We’re a Collingwood-based roaster focused on making really good coffee, while embracing the local community and sustainable practices.
The coffee addiction.
It started the way all good things do, out of frustration. We moved to Collingwood for the four-season lifetyle and to be closer to our family. We were sad to leave our Halifax life with our all-time favourite roaster.
So we started roasting at home. Tiny 100g batches in a small modded Fresh Roast SR800, dialing in profiles before our day jobs. We are chasing the perfect cup and that can only be done by studying bean sourcing, coffee profiles, and different processing. We drank so much coffee and focused on improving each type of bean over time. Eventually, we had something worth sharing with our community, and Morning Riot was born!

Great coffee, ethically sourced, made for wherever the four seasons take you.
Flavour First
We typically roast medium. Because this is the best way, in our opinion, to extract the best flavour profile from most beans. Bright, clean, and complex.
Ethical by Default
Every lot we buy is traceable. We focus on sourcing from small farms, direct relationships with suppliers, and transparent pricing.

We love Collingwood and the South Georgian Bay region. This coffee was made for people who love to support their community, just like we do!

Sunrise is the best part of the day around here! Summer calls for long bike rides with the best views, and winter is all about carving on the escarpment. This isn't the city! It's a town where the alarm goes off before dawn because the conditions are perfect. Where summer means epic cycling routes and winter means first tracks at Blue. Where people wake up early on purpose!
We make coffee we'd want to (and we do!) drink ourselves every single day. We sell at local farmers markets, deliver around town, and ship Canada-wide.
